A Professional Blog

I have a personal blog that I update every-so-often, but a personal blog is highly informal. And while, yes, I do have it linked...

I figure something more professional would be a great way to still showcase my personality and allow me to interact with anyone who wants to hire me, in said more professional setting.

So, on this inaugural post of the blog: hi!

I'm Kunabee, and I write. I write a lot of things. I want to work and write for you. The goal of this is to make writing and editing my job, my career. Because I have some obstacles - mainly in the form of mental illnesses - that makes more traditional jobs hard for me. Freelancing is and would be considerably easier than anything else. And, y'know, I like helping people too - I'm serious about that bit.

Generally, I'm very open. About my issues, about my wants, about... all of it. I believe in transparency first and foremost, in honesty, and with the taboos in society against mental illnesses and the like I want to kind of shake it up. I believe in taking full advantage of whatever privileges I'm afforded to help those who don't have said privileges. Because I know what it's like to deal with such things. I grew up a chunk of my life in poverty, and while I had a roof over my head and food on my table (both of which I'm very grateful for), I remember my mom going to my church's leader to ask for help to make rent and the fact that we had food thanks to the kindness of other people.

So, that's a big part of things for me: helping others. I want to help others. And if I can help others and get paid, all the better. But if there's one thing you should know about me, it's this: after my bills are paid, I 100% donate at least a small chunk of my money. To people who need it through fundraisers, to charity, to whatever. I also love to volunteer and, when I can, I spend my time helping others.

I don't actually know where I'm going with this post, but I suppose I wanted to have a little bit of a 'get to know you' with it, to show off my personality outside of my sometimes random and eclectic personal blog and the thousand tumblr posts written by other people that I reblog.

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can't streamline the hire-me process now. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.
